Thinking of a life as yet unlived from SoulShepherd's blog

I met a single mom the other day. She is stressed, exhausted, miserable. She has an adorable 4 year old son. She's young, 25 or so. She is working herself to death just trying to keep shelter over their heads. They stress is prematurely aging her. I asked what she wanted, said she was still looking for her prince charming.

My heart broke for her. I imagined a family where she is valued, surrounded by love, her child enveloped in the love of another mom and a dad...adults he could anchor to. The stability and security of a poly family makes more sense than anything else Ive heard.

I am a dad, I've raised 6 children (3 boys, 3 girls). I am stable, have room, have a heart full of love. Travel, stability, love, security, why couldn't this work?

True. I cannot believe the social stigma still attached to poly families. As long as the man is doing his job and leading, sheltering, providing, loving, etc... why wouldnt a woman relish and desire a relationship where there is more help, support, love, etc?? I agree - from what we encountered most women start out sweet and nice and attend to the need of the whole family but slowly they shift to want to be in charge of everything and possession of the man, and everything he has. I have not met a woman who is willing to share another woman's man and be happy from the bottom of her heart. That is just what I noticed. I hope someone will prove me wrong out there. Love to get another pillar in our union.I agree - from what we encountered most women start out sweet and nice and attend to the need of the whole family but slowly they shift to want to be in charge of everything and possession of the man,...See more
